job description

Ensure compliance when submitting monthly reports to regulatory bodies.
Ensure daily compliance with bank rules, policies and regulations.
Reconciliation of correspondent bank accounts to ensure that transactions are not unpaid beyond 2 weeks and monthly update of the financial year.
Review of statutory declarations to regulatory authorities and government agencies to ensure accuracy and timely monthly reporting.
Customer visits for random checking of deposits every week.
Review daily the accuracy and reliability of financial transaction records – cash deposits, cash withdrawals, treasury bill investments, fixed deposits and fund transfers.
Engage in loan collection and reconcile customer loan accounts for closure when required.
Participation in the in-depth review of the bank’s accounting software for daily efficiency.
Review credit or loan records daily to ensure compliance.
Review accounting records daily to ensure compliance with company policies.
Review and recommend changes to some of the company’s policies to ensure adequate day-to-day control.
Perform daily cash counts of vaults.
Daily review of customer account opening documents to comply with Know Your Customer (“KYC”) policy and anti-money laundering requirements.
Ensure compliance with bank policies and perform daily, weekly and monthly General Ledger (GL) reviews for reconciliation.
Handle customer complaints (fraud, poor service, etc.). When the need arises.
Review expenses and payments. Daily
Perform swipe drills and point drills for cashiers and account agents.

Requirements and Qualifications

The candidate must have at least 3 to 5 years of experience in Microfinance Bank in internal control.
A minimum of HND or B.Sc certification will be an added advantage.
