Women’s tennis closes SMU Fall Invitational with two wins


DALLAS- The University of Arkansas women’s tennis team wrapped up the SMU Fall Invitational with singles against Wichita State.

Arkansas had two singles wins over opponents Wichita State on courts one and two. Junior Lenka Stara picked up her second singles victory of the weekend, topping a three-set 6-3, 4-6, 10-2 showdown against Wichita State’s Anzo. Rookie Yuhan Liu also recorded his second singles win, beating Kurahashi in straight sets 3-6, 6-4, 10-5.

The Razorbacks continue the fall season next week as they travel to Stillwater, Oklahoma to compete in the ITA Regional Championships on Oklahoma State’s campus Oct. 13-17.

2. Liu (UA) beats Kurahashi (Witchita), 3-6, 6-4, 10-5

3. Kong (Wichita) beats O’Donnell (UA), 6-1, 6-3

4. Kudryavsteva (Wichita) beats McCarthy (UA), 6-4, 6-2

5. Whitaker (Wichita) beats Robbins down 6-3, 6-3
